“ADVANCED MUSIC PRODUCTION”

TEACHER

KATARINA GRYVUL

composer, violinist, music producer, educator

Hello! This course is designed for those who already have experience in music production and want to take their skills to the next level. It will help you discover new approaches to composing music, improve your production techniques, and inspire you to create unique tracks. It’s perfect for experienced producers who want to systematize their knowledge—especially in composition, harmony, and melody work—master new sound design techniques, and find fresh creative ideas.

I have been involved in music for over 25 years. During this time, I have performed at more than 100 European festivals, including some of the most prestigious—Ars Electronica, CTM, Rewire, Nuits Sonores, and others. My music has been heard all over the world. I earned a professional music education at the Lviv and Krakow music academies and attended masterclasses with some of today’s leading composers . I am currently continuing my studies at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz.

I have been teaching for 15 years and get incredible satisfaction from it. For me, as a teacher, the most important thing is to open the world of music to a person, develop their individuality and potential, and show that, in reality, everything is very simple! During this time, I have conducted masterclasses for master’s students at Sorbonne University and FH Salzburg, and I am frequently invited as a lecturer at numerous music festivals.

WHAT YOU GET IN THE COURSE

1
You will learn to produce professional tracks and regain your motivation
You will no longer have to waste time on chaotic searches for information—my method is built as a clear and consistent learning system. It provides you with a constant point of reference and clearly shows exactly what is needed to move forward. Most importantly, you won’t stop halfway: after the course, you will have your own tracks, and we will also cover various scenarios for preparing and performing your live shows.
2
Advanced composition knowledge
I will provide you with unique knowledge in composition, harmony, modulation, motif development, counterpoint, polyrhythm, and other advanced techniques that I acquired during my studies at the music academy. This system, personally developed and tested by me, will help your music reach a completely new level, making your melodies and arrangements deep, professional, and truly unique.
3
Sound design and immersive audio
You will learn to work with FM, wavetable, and granular synthesis, physical modeling, resampling, and field recordings, creating your own textures and backgrounds. You will also master spatial audio technologies—binaural, ambisonics, and object-based sound—so that your tracks sound modern and immersive, ready for cutting-edge artistic projects.
4
Mixing, mastering, and release preparation
You will learn how to mix and master tracks using modern approaches and plugins that emulate analog systems, achieving a warm and rich sound. You will master control over frequency balance, dynamics, and spatial placement, as well as preparing tracks according to current streaming standards. After the course, your tracks will be ready both for release and for live performances.
5
Individual style and musical strategy
I don’t teach a specific genre—I show methods that will help you discover your own sound. Additionally, we will explore trends in the development of various musical styles, their relevance in today’s scene, and the nuances of working with labels and festivals, so you can effectively promote your music.

I also actively join the discussions: sharing interesting information, giving advice, frequently announcing open calls, and recommending my students for participation in various festivals.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE COURSE

Computer
Most likely your computer will fit, but it is desirable to review the requirements
Headphones, monitors and midi keyboard
Any headphones are suitable, but I would recommend something like beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro to better hear all the intricacies of mixing
Desire
Without motivation, this course will be meaningless. If there is a desire and a light inside, then you will succeed!

    (2 times a week for 1,5 hours)
It takes place in a comfortable online format.
The lesson is divided into two parts: informational and practical, where attention is paid to each student.
We work with the most convenient program for creating music - Ableton Live.
  • The course is divided into 3 modules
In the first module, we will cover advanced composition techniques. The second module will focus on sound design, mixing, and immersive sound technologies. The final module will concentrate on mastering, developing your individual sound, and working with labels and festivals.
  • All graduates receive a certificate of course completion and access to our community
A place where you can develop creatively, be inspired, and grow as a musician. Collaborations, live broadcasts, online jam sessions, lectures by musicians from around the world, communication, and exchange of experiences. Therefore, after the course, everything is just beginning ;)
